Weekend Cinnamon Roll Waffles (with Eggnog Syrup)

Weekend Cinnamon Roll Waffles (with Eggnog Syrup)

Weekends are made for these cinnamon roll waffles! They are easy and require no effort, all of the ingredients are store-bought and ready to go, no waiting for dough to rise. Super simple, super cute, and amazingly delicious how can you resist? – you can’t (!) – make sure to add these to your next grocery store order!

Waffle Maker

We were cleaning out the garage (literally) and stumbled across this waffle maker, I’m pretty sure it was a purchased product when my husband still lived with his ex-girlfriend – at one time she worked at Williams Sonoma and is known for baking and making yummy delicious food, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Fun story that has nothing to do with these cinnamon roll waffles, my husband thought monkey bread was her family recipe, maybe they had a special one, but they definitely didn’t invent that wheel.

Okay back to waffle makers, use whatever you have. If you don’t have one, add it to your list. You can go cheap too, we also have this cute little mini waffle maker I grabbed on sale at Target ($10) totally worth the splurge 🙂

Cinnamon Rolls

Let’s make this easy, buy the canned ones from the store. I love homemade cinnamon rolls but for these waffles, let’s stick to the professional canned goodness. I know they’re good, you know they’re good, why recreate the wheel? Get your favorite brand, and maybe stock up because you’re going to want to make these again, I promise you.

Eggnog Syrup

Totally optional, but also a must make. Just whisk together powdered sugar, store-bought eggnog, cinnamon and nutmeg – the recipe is below. If you want more of a glaze or frosting you will need to change the powdered sugar to eggnog ratio. The less eggnog you add the thicker it will be, it will also thicken up as it sits on the counter. For glaze I would start with the same amount of powdered sugar in the recipe, but reduce your eggnog to 2 TBSP. You can add a little more at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
