- eat. drink. write. laugh. -

I live in Washington D.C. with my husband and daughter. In 2018, I left my day job as a campaign finance analyst with the federal government to devote more time to the kitchen. I’m a self-taught food blogger by day and a wife, a mom, a homemaker, a semi-foodie, a Nat’s fan and a hopeful vacation taker by night the rest of the time. I’m seeking my best life one day at a time and enjoying the entire journey.

In 2016, I decided to pursue an education in the Culinary Arts and enrolled into a Traditional French Cuisine Culinary Art School. I was in my early 30’s at the time, I’m happy to say, it’s never too late to try something new and re-develop yourself!

I earned an externship at an awarded Michelin Star restaurant The Dabney. It was incredible to watch the chefs work and collaborate over menus items as the menu changed almost daily and was dependent on daily produce from local farmers. I was continuously impressed with their skills and I learned a tremendous amount in such a short period of time.  I’m a self-proclaimed accidental culinary school drop out because during my time at the restaurant I discovered that my husband and I were expecting our first baby (!!) and was unable to successfully finish my externship due to the physical demands.   I am forever grateful for my time there.

During culinary school, I started a blog to share stories and laughs about classes – admittedly it was tough, hard, and exhausting, but nevertheless, it was amazing and an opportunity I will always cherish. I’m so glad I had a supportive family and job to allow me that unique experience

A new passion for food writing was born.

I grew up on canned vegetables, boxed meals and no seasoning. I’m trying to jump with both feet into deliciousness- hopefully creating life-long traditions and recipes for my family. I’m so happy to have you join along on the journey.
