Skip the store-bought mix, with fresh lime, an easy jalapeño infused simple syrup this margarita is a little bit sweet and a little bit heat. It is so refreshing, it is perfect.
In a small pan, add the sugar, water and sliced jalapeños. Over medium heat, let it simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved, about 3 minuets. Remove from heat and let it cool down and infuse the jalapeño flavors. Let it infuse until it reaches your preferred taste. About 5 minutes. For extra spicy, keep some of the seeds.
Zest one lime and add it to a plate of coarse salt. Rub the salt and lime between your fingers to combine the flavors.
Freshly squeeze your lime juice, you will need about 1 cup.
In a pitcher, add the lime juice and tequila. Pour the the infused simple syrup through a strainer into the pitcher and add ice.
Rub a lime wedge around a glass, dip into the prepared lime and salt rim, add ice and pour in the jalapeño margarita.
