Baked Croissant French Toast

Bonjour! I thought it would be a good idea to combine the buttery croissant with the warm sweetness of French toast, I’m sure you’ll agree this is a good match up. This delectable breakfast is light and fluffy on the inside with a crispy sweet shell.

This French toast is baked making it easy to have for a crowd without standing over the stove all morning long, simply dip the croissants in the custard mixture, place in a baking dish and pop in the oven – easy and simple.

  • 6 Large Croissants
  • 6 Eggs
  • 2 cups Cream
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 TBSP Butter + enough to coat the casserole dish


  • Preheat your oven to 425F.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, cream, milk, cinnamon and vanilla until fully incorporated. 
  • Butter your entire casserole dish and set it next to your bowl. 
    Dunk your croissants one at a time into the mixture, flipping back and forth every 30 seconds four times (2 minutes or so), then add it to your casserole dish.
  • Using a brush, paint on the mixture to the top of the croissants 3-4 times. 
  • Cut your 2 TBSP of butter into cubes and dot the top of your croissants.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. 
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional), serve with your favorite fruit and/or syrup.
